As soon as the route from the ESD workstation also leads through the workshop, goods-in or the yard, protection class S1 is no longer enough. The GX 805 women style 2.0 is an ESD compliant ladies safety shoe in protection class S3S to EN ISO 20345:2022 on the Atlas women's fit last. The penetration-resistant midsole uses the metal-free XP technology, the alu-tec aluminium toe cap takes 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression, and the MPU INNOFLEX outsole with its 3D cushioning system carries the foot through a full shift.

Why this model

• Dissipate the charge, do not collect it. The shoe is ESD compliant. Measured by the person-shoe-floor method of DIN EN 61340-5-1, the resistance stays below 100 MOhm, so the wearer charge drains to ground in a controlled way. In practice that means no component fails from a discharge on the walk between bench and machine. The plain antistatic requirement of EN ISO 20345, 100 kOhm to 1000 MOhm, does not cover this. It protects the person, not the electronics.
• S3S in plain words. In the 2022 edition S3S denotes class S3 with a non-metallic penetration-resistant midsole. S3 includes everything from S2, a closed heel, antistatic construction, an energy-absorbing heel region and a water-repellent upper. Added to that are the penetration-resistant midsole and a cleated outsole. This is the level for construction sites, workshops and anywhere nails, swarf or glass can lie on the floor.
• XP penetration resistance without metal. The penetration-resistant midsole is a high-tech textile rather than a steel plate. It covers the sole area completely instead of only the core zone, allows the natural torsion of the foot and brings no additional metal into the shoe.
• alu-tec aluminium toe cap with a 200 joule margin. The anatomically shaped aluminium toe cap withstands at least 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345. It weighs less than a steel cap and carries cold into the toe box less readily, with no loss of protection.
• SOFT nubuck leather as the upper. Atlas works exclusively with carefully selected cattle hides. The soft nubuck needs hardly any breaking in, takes on the shape of the foot and stands up to daily plant use considerably longer than a textile fabric.
• women's fit instead of a shrunk men last. The last is calculated for the anatomy of a female foot rather than scaled down from a men model. Narrower heel, a different instep line, softer bedding in the footbed. The model is approved for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV rule 112-191, the marking inside the shoe is decisive.
