One walk across the shop floor is enough to kill a component if the wearer's charge has nowhere to go. The FUSE MOTION 2.0 LOW drains it through the sole and keeps the person, shoe and floor system below 100 MOhm, the limit DIN EN 61340-5-1 sets for an EPA. PUMA Safety lists it as S1PS to EN ISO 20345:2022, with a fibreglass toe cap, metal-free penetration protection and tested SR slip resistance.
What sets this low shoe apart
- Real ESD dissipation, not just antistatic. EN ISO 20345 only asks the shoe for a resistance between 10 to the 5th and 10 to the 9th ohm, which is no ESD proof. Only the system value below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1 shows that the wearer actually loses the charge.
- What S1PS means in practice. Closed heel, antistatic build, energy absorbing heel region and a fuel resistant outsole. P stands for penetration protection, the following S for the non-metallic insert tested with the 3.0 mm nail under EN ISO 20345:2022. A water repellent upper is not part of the class, that would need S2 or S3.
- A 200 joule cap without metal. The fibreglass cap passes the test at 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression, yet weighs less than steel and stays warmer in a cold store. The whole shoe is metal-free, so gate detectors stay quiet.
- Up to 55 percent energy return. The IMPULSE.FOAM midsole sits under the foot in two densities. It absorbs the impact and gives much of the energy back, which counts over an eight hour shift on the line.
- No seams where the shoe flexes. FUSE.TEC elements replace the stitching in the bending zone. Pressure points lose their cause and the upper stays light and mobile.
- 300 degrees Celsius contact heat and oil. The MOTION IMPULSE Triple Density outsole carries the HRO marking for heat contact and FO for fuel resistance, plus SR for tested slip resistance.
