ESD safety low shoe SL 805 XP S3S SR, SOFT nubuck leather, extra wide width 12 - Atlas 49412

In electronics manufacturing the shoe decides whether an assembly survives the walk from the bench to the machine. The SL 805 XP keeps the person to shoe to floor resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1 and is certified to EN ISO 20345:2022 in class S3S SR. One model therefore covers both product protection and full foot protection.

What defines this shoe

• Aluminium toecap (alu-tec) tested to 200 joules of impact energy under EN ISO 20345. Aluminium reaches the standard value without the weight of a classic steel cap.
• XP metal free penetration resistant insert. The S in S3S means the non metallic insert was tested with the thin 3.0 mm nail, a harder test than the previous 4.5 mm nail. Metal free also means better flex behaviour and no trigger at metal detectors.
• S3S under the 2022 edition covers a closed heel, energy absorption in the heel area, antistatic behaviour, water penetration and water absorption of the upper, and a cleated outsole. SR is the slip resistance requirement tested on tile with glycerine.
• MPU INNOFLEX outsole system. The INNOFLEX LINE guides the forces from heel to toe and the CLOUDZONE in the heel absorbs impact. The MPU REBOUND SYSTEM returns the stored energy to the stride.
• SOFT nubuck of full grain cowhide around 2 mm thick, breathable and soft on the foot. Inside, the aktiv-X functional lining regulates temperature.
• Width 12 is the extra wide version. ATLAS lists W12 for this model explicitly. Anyone who needs more forefoot width or instep volume gets the same equipment as in the standard width, likewise approved for insole provision to DGUV 112-191.

Electronics manufacturing and assembly, test and repair benches, warehousing and picking inside an EPA, maintenance and machine operation. The cleated outsole and the penetration resistant insert also suit walks across the yard or a construction site.

EN ISO 20345:2022, class S3S SR. ESD to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Suitable for orthopaedic insole provision to DGUV 112-191. PPE risk category II, EU declaration of conformity available from the manufacturer.

ESD footwear drains the wearer's charge to the floor in a controlled way. For these models ATLAS guarantees a resistance below 100 MOhm (10^8 ohms) measured person to shoe to floor according to DIN EN 61340-5-1. EN ISO 20345 contains no ESD test at all. It only defines the antistatic band from 10^5 to 10^9 ohms and is therefore not an ESD proof on its own. DGUV 112-191 sets 10^5 ohms (0.1 MOhm) as the lower limit so that limited protection against dangerous body current remains for work up to 230 V.
