ESD low shoe with a non metallic penetration barrier, certified by Atlas to EN ISO 20345:2022 as S1PS SR. The XP barrier is tested with the 3.0 mm nail, the alu-tec aluminium cap meets 200 joules and 15 kN, and resistance stays below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1. BOA Fit System, mesh upper, EU sizes 36 to 49.

Anyone who needs penetration protection inside an EPA usually ends up with a heavy S3 boot. The FLASH 3305 XP BOA takes the other route, a light mesh low shoe that Atlas certifies to the current EN ISO 20345:2022 as S1PS SR. The PS stands for a non metallic penetration barrier tested with the thin 3.0 mm nail, and the BOA Fit System replaces the lacing.

What the shoe delivers

  • S1PS is more than S1P. Atlas certifies this shoe to EN ISO 20345:2022 as S1PS SR. S1 provides the closed heel area, antistatic properties, heel energy absorption and the 200 joule toe cap. The suffix PS stands for the non metallic penetration barrier tested with the thin 3.0 mm nail. The older P marking was tested with a 4.5 mm nail, so PS is the tougher test.
  • Charge dissipation to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The shoe ties the wearer into the personnel grounding of the EPA. Atlas guarantees a resistance of less than 100 MOhm measured by the person shoe floor method. The plain antistatic requirement of EN ISO 20345 allows anything between 0.1 MOhm and 1000 MOhm. Component protection depends on the tighter figure, because only that prevents a discharge when someone picks up an assembly.
  • alu-tec aluminium toe cap. The anatomically shaped cap meets 200 joules of impact and 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345 while weighing markedly less than steel. That pays off with every step and keeps the centre of gravity further back. Aluminium behaves differently from steel thermally and does not form a noticeable cold bridge into the shoe.
  • MPU INNOFLEX system with MPU REBOUND. The sole assembly guides the load along one natural line of force, the INNOFLEX LINE, from first to last ground contact. Large tread areas made of energy absorbing MPU material take up the impact and return it into the next step. Anyone covering kilometres on concrete across a shift notices the difference by the end of the day.
  • Mesh upper and aktiv-X functional lining. The high tech mesh wraps the foot closely and still lets air through, the open texture of the fabric keeps air moving instead of trapping heat. The aktiv-X lining regulates moisture, dries the shoe out quickly, does not stain and resists abrasion.
  • BOA Fit System and width 12 on request. The finely adjustable dial replaces the lacing, the fit can be tightened one handed and with gloves on and released in a single pull. There are no loose lace ends to catch in rollers. Atlas also offers the same shoe in extra wide width 12, and it is approved for orthopaedic insoles under DGUV rule 112-191.

Areas of use

Electronics production and maintenance, assembly lines with swarf or nail hazards, workshops, order picking and warehousing. The metal free barrier does not trigger metal detectors and forms no cold bridge. For permanently wet floors an S3 version with a water tested upper is preferable.

Standards and conformity

  • EN ISO 20345:2022, safety class S1PS, slip resistance SR. Aluminium toe cap (alu-tec), tested to 200 joules of impact and 15 kN of compression.
  • DIN EN 61340-5-1, ESD compliant. Resistance measured by the person shoe floor method is less than 100 MOhm. The antistatic requirement of EN ISO 20345 is wider, between 0.1 MOhm and 1000 MOhm.
  • Metal free penetration barrier, Atlas XP technology.
  • PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, risk category 2.
  • DGUV rule 112-191, suitable for orthopaedic insoles. The marking inside the shoe is what counts.

Sizes

Available in EU sizes 36 to 49 in standard width 10. Atlas also offers the same shoe in extra wide width 12.
