Putting women's feet on a scaled-down men's last is an old compromise that is felt at the heels by the end of the shift. Atlas builds the GX 240 on a dedicated women's fit last, fits the Sporty Light outsole and keeps the resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1.

The low shoe is rated class S1 to EN ISO 20345 and stays light thanks to the mesh upper and the MPU Light sole. It runs on standard width 10 and is available in sizes 35 to 43.

Key benefits

  • Dissipation to DIN EN 61340-5-1 below 100 MOhm person plus shoe plus floor, so the charge does not drain through the component
  • Protection class S1 SRC to EN ISO 20345 with a closed heel, energy absorption in the heel area and a toe cap rated for 200 joules and 15 kN
  • Built on a women's fit last, a genuine women's shape rather than a scaled-down men's last
  • MPU Light sole technology from the Sporty Light line with soft bedding, developed for long indoor distances
  • Mesh upper that wraps the foot closely and stays breathable over time
  • clima-stream concept of breathable upper, thermoregulating lining and Klima Komfort insole, tuned to an in-shoe temperature around 32 degrees
  • Replaceable insole with heel cushioning, MPU REBOUND SYSTEM and aktiv-X functional lining, plus release for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV rule 112-191

Areas of use

Suited to workstations in electronics production and the test bay, to laboratories and cleanroom ante-areas as well as to picking and packing. As an S1 model without penetration resistance and without a water-repellent upper the shoe belongs in dry indoor areas.

Standards and conformity

The classification EN ISO 20345 S1 SRC means a closed heel area, antistatic construction, 20 joules of energy absorption in the heel and a fuel-resistant outsole. SRC covers the slip test on ceramic tile with detergent plus the test on steel flooring with glycerine.

For its ESD models Atlas guarantees a resistance below 100 MOhm, that is below 10^8 Ohm, measured person plus shoe plus floor to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The footwear standard EN ISO 20345 contains no ESD test of its own and only requires antistatic shoes to stay between 10^5 and 10^9 Ohm. Anyone running an EPA to DIN EN 61340-5-1 therefore needs the tighter ESD figure rather than the antistatic range alone.

To EN ISO 20345 the toe cap withstands an impact of 200 joules and a static compression of 15 kN. The shoe is category II personal protective equipment under Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and Atlas publishes the EU declaration of conformity for the model.
