In warm production halls the safety shoe is the first thing to be taken off in summer. The FLASH 4600 ESD therefore relies on a mesh upper and the clima-stream concept while remaining a tested safety shoe to EN ISO 20345:2022 in class S1 SR with a body-shoe-floor resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1.

What this model delivers

  • The charge goes into the floor, not into the component. Atlas states a body-shoe-floor resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1 for its ESD footwear. The wearer is discharged continuously instead of building up a potential until the moment of contact with an assembly. EN ISO 20345 itself has no ESD test, it only defines the antistatic band from 100 kOhm to 1,000 MOhm.
  • Class S1 in plain terms. Closed seat region, antistatic properties and an energy-absorbing heel. Penetration resistance and a water-repellent upper are not part of it, which keeps the shoe light and airy. For dry indoor areas without nail hazards that is exactly the right class.
  • alu-tec cap, noticeably lighter than steel. The anatomically shaped aluminium toe cap meets the 200 joules impact energy and 15 kN compression required by EN ISO 20345 while putting less weight on the forefoot. Aluminium is thermally neutral, so no cold bridge is created into the shoe.
  • MPU REBOUND SYSTEM. The responsive MPU midsole absorbs heel strike and returns energy during roll-off. Anyone standing eight hours on concrete or covering long distances across the plant notices the difference by the end of the day.
  • clima-stream concept. The construction moves air through the shoe interior, balances moisture and keeps foot temperature stable. In a production hall with long wearing times that is the difference between wearable and irritating.
  • Multi-width system instead of an exemption. Every Atlas model in standard width 10 is already built on a broad, foot-friendly last. Beyond that this model is available in width 12 and in the special widths 13 and 14, so wide feet stay in the same model at the same protection level.
  • aktiv-X functional lining. The lining regulates moisture actively and lets the shoe dry out again after the shift. It does not stain, is skin-friendly and abrasion-resistant, which is what counts over months of daily wear.
  • Approved for orthopaedic insoles. The model is suitable for orthopaedic insole fitting to DGUV rule 112-191. The marking inside the shoe is decisive. Staff with their own insoles do not have to switch to a special model.

Electronics manufacturing and assembly, test and measurement benches, assembly and final inspection, indoor warehousing and order picking, and warm halls or summer operation where ventilation and low weight decide whether the shoe is worn.

Standards and conformity

  • EN ISO 20345:2022, safety footwear for professional use, class S1 SR
  • Toe cap in aluminium to EN ISO 20345, tested at 200 joules impact energy and 15 kN compression
  • ESD equipment for workplaces to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Atlas states a body-shoe-floor resistance below 100 MOhm
  • Antistatic band of EN ISO 20345 from 100 kOhm to 1,000 MOhm. The footwear standard itself requires no ESD test
  • DGUV information 112-191 names 0.1 MOhm as the lower resistance limit for limited protection against dangerous body currents when working up to 230 V
  • Suitable for orthopaedic insole fitting to DGUV rule 112-191
  • PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, risk category II
