ESD occupational sandal, full-grain cowhide, three buckles, heel strap, black - Vitaform 3620-31

Black upper on a white sole, three pin buckles and a heel strap. This occupational sandal is meant for departments where the shoe collects dust and abrasion and still has to look presentable. Electrostatically it behaves like the light versions, with a dissipative EVA outsole to EN 61340-4-3 and a person, shoe and floor path below 100 MOhm per DIN EN 61340-5-1.

What sets this model apart

• Dissipative EVA outsole, tested to EN 61340-4-3. On a dissipative floor the resistance of the person, shoe and floor path stays below 100 MOhm, the value DIN EN 61340-5-1 requires for an ESD workplace.
• Natural cork footbed with air cushion and suede leather cover. Within a few days the cork takes the shape of the foot and supports the arch, the suede cover absorbs moisture instead of leaving it under the sole.
• Three pin buckles, each adjustable on its own. The base width is normal, the buckles take up a high instep as readily as a flat foot. The additional forefoot strap keeps the foot in place even over long distances.
• Heel strap. Folded forward the shoe slips on and off at a fixed workstation, folded back it sits firmly enough for stairs, ladders and brisk walking across the shop floor.
• White outsole. It leaves no dark scuff marks on light floors, a recurring complaint in clean areas and laboratories.
• The upper is full-grain cowhide, not split leather and not a coated substitute. It wipes clean, moves with the foot and keeps its shape for years with basic care.

Applications

Assembly, test bay and workshop, store and goods-in inside the ESD area, service work on sensitive assemblies. A dark upper still looks presentable where dust, abrasion and constant handling are part of the day.

Not suitable for workplaces with impact, crushing or penetration hazards. There the risk assessment calls for a safety shoe to EN ISO 20345.

Standards and conformity

The ESD property is tested to EN 61340-4-3, the test method for the electrical resistance of footwear. As a shoe the model is certified to DIN EN ISO 20347, that is as occupational footwear without a protective toe cap. It carries no safety class from S1 to S3. Dissipation works only together with a dissipative floor, which is why DIN EN 61340-5-1 requires shoe and floor to be checked at regular intervals in service.
