TO92 stand-off lock-in die with 3 leads in line for Supercut/RS4 - Iteco 162800

Where the layout keeps the three TO92 pads in a straight row, the center lead must not be spread. On the Supercut/RS4 this die assembly therefore leaves the leads in line and forms a stand-off loop with retention instead, holding the package at a distance from the board.

Operating features

• Leads stay in line - the die works without any offset and matches a straight hole pattern in the original pitch.
• Stand-off above the board - the loop acts as a spacer, the package does not rest on the laminate.
• Retention in the same operation - the formed lead holds the device in the hole before soldering.
• Better cleaning access - the gap under the package lets flux residues be washed out.
• Up to 2000 pieces per hour - the Supercut/RS4 cuts and forms at its normal cycle rate.

Applications

Layouts with a straight pad row in the original pitch, assemblies with a mandatory cleaning step after soldering, and boards where air has to circulate underneath the TO92 package.

Compatibility and scope of supply

The die belongs to the tooling programme of the Supercut/RS4, which Iteco supplies under part number 7915.166 without any die. Every forming shape needs its own die assembly, and the unit is exchanged as one complete assembly. Dies of the 16x.xxx range fit the Supercut/RS4, the 18x.xxx range fits the larger Supercut/TS1. Supplied as one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
