Storing and shipping PCBs, assemblies and components calls for packaging that keeps electrostatic fields and discharges away from the contents. SCS 1000 Series shielding bags are made from a polyester, metal and polyethylene laminate that limits the discharge energy reaching the inside to less than 10 nJ. Choose the format to fit the part, available in sizes from 50 x 75 to 610 x 914 mm (width x length). With about 40 % transparency the contents stay visible without opening the bag.

• Groundable: dissipative interior and exterior at 1 x 10⁴ to < 1 x 10¹¹ ohms. Charges drain when the bag lies on a grounded surface or is held by a grounded operator.
• Durable: 0.071 mm laminate with 53 N puncture resistance and 32 MPa tensile strength.
• Traceable: printed with the ESD protective symbol and a lot code for quality control per ANSI/ESD S541.
• Sealable: open top, heat sealable at 149 to 190 °C.

Applications

Storage and shipping of PCBs, assemblies and individual components, transport between EPA, warehouse and customer. Store bags in a dry, well ventilated room at around 24 °C and away from direct sunlight so the aluminium layer does not oxidise. Discard bags that are torn or scratched.
