Everyday clothing made of synthetics or wool charges up with every movement, and its field reaches the component on the bench. Desco ESD smocks in jacket length cover torso and arms and suppress that field. The lightweight dissipative polyester fabric with woven-in conductive yarn stays conductive across every seam, so the smock never becomes an isolated conductor. Through the 4 mm snap at the hip and the conductive cuffs it also grounds the wearer.

Applications

Assembly, repair, test and laboratories in the EPA, wherever operators in everyday clothing handle ESD sensitive items. Fasten the smock fully so no personal clothing is exposed and ground it before handling parts, either with a coil cord on the hip snap or via ESD footwear and ESD flooring. The hip-to-cuff function can be checked with a wrist strap tester or continuous monitor.
