ESD Brush, Round, Hard Bristles, Dissipative Handle, Ø 3 to Ø 6 mm - Desco

Brushing circuit boards easily generates electrostatic charge through friction. In these brushes, conductive fibres are worked into the natural bristles. They prevent charge build-up even at low humidity and drain charges through the dissipative handle to the grounded user. Round brushes concentrate the bristles on a small cross-section and suit targeted work on solder joints, pins and tight spots between SMD components.

• Hard bristles of conductive yarn, pig hair and horse hair, volume resistance of the conductive fibres 1 x 10³ to < 1 x 10⁵ ohms.
• Dissipative black polypropylene handle, 1 x 10⁴ to < 1 x 10¹¹ ohms.
• Resistance to ground Rg 1 x 10⁴ to 1 x 10⁷ ohms.
• For scrubbing PCBs, particularly in SMD assembly, for example against flux and solder residue.

Applications

For PCB cleaning, rework and repair in electronics production, and for cleaning tools and fixtures in the ESD protected area. The brushes only drain charges when the user is grounded, for example via a wrist strap.
