Jewel MagSnap Dual-Wire ESD Metal Wristband with Magnetic Connection, Medium, Onyx - Desco 60677

If the operator snags the cord, the connection at the wrist has to give way in a controlled manner. On the Jewel MagSnap 60677 a magnet holds wristband and coil cord together and releases at the 5 to 25 N force required by EN 61340-5-1. Release is more consistent than with standard 4 mm snaps, and the coupling has no moving parts.

Applications

Personnel grounding at continuously monitored ESD workstations. Via the MagSnap dual-wire coil cord with 3.5 mm mono plug, the wristband works with 3M and other resistive continuous monitors.

Standards

Meets the wrist strap requirements of EN 61340-5-1 including the safety release force. The standard requires a total resistance of 7.5 x 10⁵ to 3.5 x 10⁷ ohms from hand to earth bonding point for the complete wrist strap, and a check before each use with the band worn.
