Vermason Hi-Speed/Hi-Accuracy wrist strap tester, 1-second test cycle, 24 VDC - Desco 222562

When many operators check their wrist straps one after another at the start of a shift, every second at the tester counts. The Vermason Hi-Speed/Hi-Accuracy Tester works on a stop-and-go principle: press the button and after a one-second test cycle the result is fixed. It measures the resistance of the complete circuit of band, coiled cord and body against limits of 750 kilohms and 35 megohms.

Applications

Snap the coiled cord onto the wrist band, fit the band snugly and plug the other end of the cord into the tester. Press and hold the test button until a result is shown. On a fail, test the cord on its own first, then check the fit of the band, and treat dry skin with ESD hand lotion. Intended for production areas where wrist straps are tested daily before work starts.

Standards

The tester indicates whether resistance lies within the range of EN 61340-5-1. Test procedure and frequency follow the CLC/TR 61340-5-2 user guide, which recommends daily testing for wrist straps worn every day.
