The hose links the vacuum to the workpiece and should not build up charge itself. The SV-SH33 hose assembly is static dissipative at 1 x 10⁶ to < 1 x 10¹⁰ ohms and therefore suitable for use in an EPA.

Collapsed it measures 61 cm, extended up to 213 cm. That lets you reach distant spots at the workstation without moving the unit. The 497 series ESD vacuums are designed for use in an EPA. Hose and accessories are conductive or dissipative, and charges drain through the grounding conductor of the power cord when the unit runs from a grounded outlet.
