On through-hole work the limiting factor is rarely iron wattage, it is how fast the tip replaces the heat it gives away. A 2.4 mm chisel face rests flat across pad and lead instead of touching at a point, which covers most of classic through-hole assembly in one geometry.
Features
- 2.4 mm chisel geometry for flat contact on pad and component lead rather than point heating.
- ERSADUR long-life tip, galvanically plated with an iron layer and therefore dimensionally stable in continuous use.
- Additional chrome layer protects the shank against corrosion and oxidation.
- Series 142 shank geometry, 7.70 mm outside and 5.30 mm inside, no fitting work on a change.
- Bayonet fitting allows a tip change while hot, using the 0A58 stand or by hand.
- RoHS compliant.

Application
The default size for through-hole assembly, terminal blocks, pin headers and repairs on leaded parts. Larger joints call for the wider chisel widths in series 142, fine pitch work for the pencil point shapes.
Compatibility
For the i-Tool MK2 and the i-Tool TRACE and i-Con TRACE irons only. It does not fit the first generation i-Tool, which takes series 102 and the matching shape 0102CDLF24.
