Dust is rarely the issue on the viewfinder monitor of a digital camera or on an LCD. Fingerprints and greasy residue are, and grease calls for a leather that absorbs it rather than a dust cloth. The Kinetronics OQC is a chamois cleaning leather measuring 150 x 100 mm for dry use. A storage case is included so the leather does not pick up dirt between jobs.

Applications

The OQC is drawn across the surface dry, without cleaner and without pressure. The usual case is a camera viewfinder or rear monitor after a day of shooting, along with display glass on instruments, control panels and other sensitive surfaces that fingers have been on. After use the leather goes back into its case.

How it differs from the anti-static cloths

The OQC is a chamois leather, not an anti-static microfiber cloth. It has no conductive fibres and the manufacturer publishes no resistance value for it, so it is not the answer to a static charge. If you need to take dust off film, slides, circuit boards, lenses or scanner glass and drain the charge at the same time, use the Tiger Cloth ASC, which works dry and carries conductive polyester fibres in the weave.
