Anti-static hand brush 20 mm, conductive handle, for optics and detail work - Kinetronics SW-020

Dust on a lens coating or on a populated board is held there electrostatically, which is why blowing it off tends to move it rather than remove it. The StaticWisk SW-020 is 20 mm wide, narrow enough to reach front elements, filter rings, SLR mirrors and recesses where a wider brush no longer sits flat. The fibres pick the particles up, the conductive handle drains the charge, and the cleaned surface is left electrically neutral.

Applications

Photography, optics and metrology: lenses, filters, SLR mirrors and other optical components whose coating tolerates no hard contact. Electronics manufacturing and test labs: assemblies and circuit boards, instruments and technical equipment. Beyond production it earns its keep on small items such as jewellery, glass parts and camera bodies. When a whole surface should be covered in one pass, the 30 mm or 60 mm version of the series is the better fit.

Care

Wash soiled fibres with a mild shampoo, then comb them and let them dry flat overnight on a level surface. Washing does not affect the anti-static behaviour. The brush must not be used above 65 °C. Where charges build up again and again, Kinetronics also supplies the series with a grounding connection, though only from 100 mm working width upwards (SW-101, SW-141, SW-281).
