Anyone walking eight hours between placement machine and test bench notices every gram. The VIVID LOW does without a single metal part, the toe cap is fibreglass and the penetration resistance comes from the FAP Green insert. It carries safety class S1PS to EN ISO 20345:2022 and is listed by the manufacturer as an ESD shoe, meant for workplaces run to DIN EN 61340-5-1.

What the shoe delivers

• Metal-free throughout. Fibreglass cap instead of steel and a textile penetration resistant insert. That avoids the beep at the metal detector and keeps exposed metal away from sensitive assemblies.
• The stricter penetration code. Under the 2022 edition S stands for a metal-free insert tested with a 3.0 millimetre nail at 1100 newton. The 4.5 millimetre nail of class L is the milder test body.
• Toe cap with a stated test load. The fibreglass cap withstands an impact of 200 joule and a compression of 15 kilonewton under EN ISO 20345.
• Outsole for hot ground. The URBAN rubber outsole with idCELL and rotation point is tested to HRO against contact heat of 300 degrees Celsius and is also oil resistant and slip resistant to SR.
• Upper from recycled fibre. The SAFETY KNIT GREEN fabric is partly made from recycled polyester fibres and saves virgin material.
• On and off quickly. Pull-on loop at the heel, padded collar and padded tongue. The BreathActive functional lining moves moisture outwards.

Electronics manufacturing and EPA areas, cleanroom ante-rooms, test and repair benches, assembly, warehouse and order picking. The heat resistant outsole also suits soldering workplaces and areas with warm floors.

Standards and compliance

EN ISO 20345:2022, safety class S1PS with the markings ESD, FO for the fuel oil resistant outsole, HRO for resistance to contact heat and SR for slip resistance. Personal protective equipment of category 2 under EU regulation 2016/425. The ESD workplace additionally follows DIN EN 61340-5-1 with a person-shoe-floor system resistance below 100 MOhm. EN ISO 20345 only covers the wide antistatic range from 0.1 to 1000 MOhm and does not replace that proof.
