Anyone working in a cleanroom or on a pick and place line needs a shoe that drains the charge without carrying metal through the detector gate. The uvex 1 low shoe 8543/8 uses the metal free uvex xenova composite toe cap and holds leakage resistance below 100 megohm, the limit DIN EN 61340-5-1 sets for the chain of person, shoe and floor. It is certified to EN ISO 20345:2022 + A1:2024 in protection class S1 with FO and SR.

Why this model

  • Leakage resistance stays below 100 megohm, tested by uvex to EN 61340-4-3 and EN 61340-5-1. An antistatic rating under EN ISO 20345 is not proof on its own, because it allows anything from 10 to the power of 5 up to 10 to the power of 9 ohm. Work on assemblies depends on the low figure.
  • The uvex xenova toe cap is 100 percent metal free, compact, anatomically shaped and thermally non-conductive. It meets the EN ISO 20345 base requirement of 200 joule impact energy and 15 kN compression, yet triggers no metal detector and conducts no winter cold to the toes.
  • Protection class S1 covers a closed heel area, antistatic construction, energy absorption in the heel (E) and a fuel resistant sole. There is deliberately no penetration resistant midplate, which keeps the shoe light for mainly indoor workplaces.
  • The foamed PU heel cradle is integrated into the sole and guides the heel without pressure points. Together with the almost seam free microvelour upper it cuts the number of hot spots across eight hours on your feet.
  • Width 11, a perforated upper and the distance mesh lining keep the air moving. The replaceable antistatic climate comfort footbed cushions heel and forefoot and leaves room for an orthopaedic insole, the shoe is certified for uvex medicare+ to DGUV 112-191.
  • The elastic lace with quick release is adjusted once and then opened and closed without bending down. The shoe is made 100 percent vegan, suits people with a chrome allergy and is declared at 6.61 kg CO2 cradle to customer.
