Safety shoes in small sizes are often just shrunken men's models, which shows after the third hour. The FUSE KNIT WNS LOW belongs to the MOTION PROTECT WOMEN line and is built on a women's last in width F. The protection values are untouched by that, class S1P to EN ISO 20345 plus the ESD build for workplaces where person, shoe and floor together have to stay below 100 megohms under DIN EN 61340-5-1.

What sets this model apart

• A women's last, not a downsized men's shoe. The MOTION PROTECT WOMEN line fits closer at heel and instep and runs differently at the forefoot. Anyone who used to choose between too wide and too short gets width F in sizes 36 to 42 here.
• ESD as a condition of the job. The shoe conducts the wearer charge through the sole to earth and thereby holds up its end of DIN EN 61340-5-1, which asks for less than 100 megohms across person, shoe and floor. The antistatic range of EN ISO 20345 alone is not enough for that.
• S1P translated. Closed heel area, antistatic build, energy absorbing heel and fuel oil resistant sole, plus the penetration resistant midsole. Water repellency is not included, that is the job of S2 and S3.
• Knit upper with FUSE.TEC. The SAFETY KNIT fabric wraps the foot closely and stays air permeable, while FUSE.TEC elements take over the stability that seams and overlays would otherwise provide. That keeps the shoe light and avoids pressure points across the instep.
• Tested and metal free. Fibreglass cap for 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN of compression to EN ISO 20345, plus the flexible FAP layer instead of a steel insert. No metal means less weight and no cold bridge under the foot.
• Footbed and climate. The evercushion CUSTOM FIT MID footbed supports the longitudinal arch and the BreathActive functional lining moves moisture away. The MOTION IMPULSE outsole is tested against 300 °C contact heat and grips well.
