A 60 degree bevel turns the 1 mm round shank into an oval working face. That face holds a small pool of solder which feeds forward as the tip is drawn along the pins, while the narrow leading edge sets the position.

For drag soldering fine QFP and SOIC rows, tinning stranded wire and contact pins, and reworking solder bridges. The tip fits the QUELKTSS80A iron of the Quick TS8 and TS8+ stations. Supplied as one cartridge tip without iron or station.
