In through-hole work a flat chisel only touches one flank of the lead, so heat enters the joint from a single side. The TSS08-3DU01 carries a 1.4 mm cow foot groove in its 3 mm chisel face, the lead sits inside it and is heated from two sides.

Operating benefits

• 1.4 mm cow foot groove, it takes leads up to that width and wraps around the pin instead of resting beside it.
• 3 mm chisel width at 1.4 mm blade thickness, plenty of material right behind the groove as heat storage for plated holes.
• The groove holds a small solder meniscus on touch down, which shortens the time until pin and pad are wetted.
• 1.5 mm of pre-tinned zone, deliberately limited to the working area of the groove.
• Thermocouple in the cartridge, the set temperature is back quickly after each pin.
• Calibration chip in the tip, the station keeps working with the verified value after a change.

Application, scope of delivery and compatibility

Intended for leaded components, pin headers and terminal blocks in production and repair, that is every joint where a wire sits in a hole. Scope of delivery, one cartridge soldering tip. It works in the QUELKTSS80A handpiece of the Quick TS8 and TS8+ stations. For heavier leads the same design offers a 2.6 mm groove at 5 mm width, both belong to the TSS08R series.
