Not every contact row is long. For short runs of terminals and closely spaced connectors an 8 mm edge is too much, while a round point is too concentrated. This cartridge takes the middle ground with a 4.5 mm edge bevelled at 45 degrees on a 2.0 mm blade.

Why the small knife shape works here

• A 4.5 mm edge covers short contact runs and still leaves clearance to neighbouring components.
• At 2.0 mm the blade is the slimmest of the three knife shapes in the range, which helps in awkward positions.
• The 45 degree bevel provides two contact faces, the narrow edge for a single pad and the angled face for more heat transfer.
• Drawn along the row, the face carries surplus solder with it and reduces bridging between pins.
• Tip and heater form one cartridge. Quick quotes roughly 3 seconds from room temperature to 300 °C for the range, measured on the 1.6 mm tip.
• Thermocouple inside the tip and a chip holding the calibration value, so the station reading stays comparable after a change.

Application, scope of delivery and compatibility

Intended for short linear contacts, terminal rows, solder lugs, connectors and joints reachable from the side, in service, assembly, repair and rework. Where the edge is too short, the range offers the TSS10C-SK at 5.0 mm and the TSS10C-K at 8.0 mm. For single fine pads a conical cartridge such as the TSS10C-B is the better answer. The tip ships as a single cartridge and fits the Quick TS10 station only.
