Through-hole pins, connectors and tinned stranded wire pull more heat than a surface mount pad, and that is exactly where a narrow tip gives way. This cartridge puts 1.6 mm of working width on a 0.8 mm blade, the strongest of the three straight TSS11 chisels while still usable on board work.

What the 1.6 mm width delivers

• 1.6 mm of width doubles the contact area against the 0.8 mm shape, so solder flows through pins and wire faster.
• The 0.8 mm blade stores the heat needed at the moment of touch down, before the control loop catches up.
• Heat-up of three seconds from 20 °C to 300 °C, quoted on exactly this tip width.
• Working range of 100 to 450 °C on the TS11, with headroom for lead free alloys on high mass joints.
• Tip and heater form one unit with no plug connection, and the integrated thermocouple monitors temperature in real time.
• Tool free tip changing at an overall length of 90 mm, so moving between fine and heavy work costs little time.

Application, scope of delivery and compatibility

Intended for joints with higher heat demand, meaning through-hole leads, pin headers, connectors, cable ends and larger pads in repair, rework, assembly and laboratory work. For fine pitch switch to the TSS11-1.2D or TSS11-0.8D, both of which fit the same station. Delivery is one cartridge tip, which fits the Quick TS11 soldering station.
