A light sandal for the ESD protected area, built for halls that get warm. Two pin buckles set the fit, the natural cork and air cushion footbed carries the foot, and the conductive EVA sole keeps the person, shoe and floor chain below the 100 MOhm limit of DIN EN 61340-5-1. The 3 cm heel takes pressure off the heel bone.

What sets this model apart

• Conductive EVA sole for the ESD protected area. Footwear resistance is measured to EN 61340-4-3 and the supplier data sheet states certification to DIN EN ISO 20347. Combined with a dissipative floor the shoe keeps the person, shoe and floor chain below the 100 MOhm limit that DIN EN 61340-5-1 sets for an EPA.
• Occupational footwear, not safety footwear. DIN EN ISO 20347 covers shoes without a protective toe cap. That saves weight and bulk at workplaces with no impact or drop hazard, but it is no substitute for safety footwear to EN ISO 20345.
• Footbed of air cushion and natural cork with a suede leather cover. The cork supports the arch, the air cushion damps the heel strike and the suede cover takes up moisture. That is the combination that matters over an eight hour shift on hard flooring.
• Two pin buckles for adjusting the fit. The foot is held at two points, enough for sure footed walking while the shoe still comes off in seconds.
• Heel height 3 cm. The heel sits slightly raised and weight shifts forward onto the ball of the foot. Anyone who stands a lot and walks little feels that as noticeable relief compared with a flat sole.
• Upper of full cowhide leather. Not synthetic, but a leather that wipes clean, lets the foot breathe and takes the daily load of shift work. Blue leather on a white sole stays presentable on the shop floor longer than an all light coloured model.

Production and test areas in the electronics industry, laboratory, stores and order picking inside the ESD protected area, medical and measuring technology workshops. The open build shows its strength in warm halls and through the summer, when a closed shoe gets too hot over a shift. Where there is an impact, drop or penetration hazard, safety footwear to EN ISO 20345 is the right choice.
