How long an H13 main filter lasts depends mostly on how much coarse dust reaches it at all. The M5 filter mat sits in front of it as a prefilter and is deliberately designed as a low-cost wear part to be kept in stock by the pack.

Function in the filter train

ULT uses the M5 mat as the prefilter stage ahead of the main filter element in its solder fume and laser fume units. It binds coarse dust and cooled aerosols before they reach the HEPA stage. Changing the mat at short intervals keeps the main filter serviceable far longer, because a clogged H13 element costs a multiple of the mat.

Applications

Routine maintenance changes on solder fume and adhesive vapour extractors of the 150 to 250 series in electronics manufacturing, repair shops and laboratories. Dust-intensive processes call for a shorter change interval than plain hand soldering.

Fits ULT extraction units of the LRA and ACD series 150, 210, 220 and 250. Delivery comprises ten M5 filter mats without further accessories.
