SMC rework soldering tip cartridge, hook, long, 0.5 mm, 390 °C, 700 series - Metcal SMC-7HK0005S

In rework the joint often sits behind a component or under a connector. The SMC-7HK0005S uses its long hook and 0.5 mm tip to reach where a straight tip cannot, at a nominal 390 °C.

Cartridge series code

The first digit after the hyphen gives the temperature series: 6 for 330 °C, 7 for 390 °C, 8 for 440 °C and 9 for 470 °C. Metcal recommends the 700 series for most applications. The 600 series suits low thermal load and low temperatures, the 800 and 900 series high temperatures and high heat demand.
