Anyone who spends eight hours between store, soldering bench and production line in assembly or semiconductor work needs two things at once. A shoe that continuously drains the wearer's static charge, and a shoe that still feels comfortable at the end of the shift. The QS 500 ESD answers both with a replaceable, anatomically shaped cork microfibre footbed and a steel toe cap tested to 200 joules of impact energy under EN ISO 20345:2011.

What sets this model apart

• Safety class S3 means a closed heel area, antistatic construction, an energy absorbing heel (E), a water repellent upper (WRU) and a puncture resistant, profiled outsole (P). Nails and swarf on the shop floor stay outside.
• Steel toe cap to EN ISO 20345:2011, tested at 200 joules of impact energy, with an additional scratch resistant cap guard against abrasion at the toe.
• ESD compliant construction carrying the A marking. DIN EN 61340-5-1 requires the person, shoe and floor chain in an ESD protected area to stay below 100 MOhm so that the wearer's charge drains in a controlled way instead of discharging into a component. The measurement at the installed workplace remains decisive.
• Replaceable cork microfibre footbed with heel cup, longitudinal arch supports and metatarsal support. Replaceable means the footbed is swapped when it wears out instead of the whole shoe, and that a personal orthotic insert has room.
• Nitrile rubber outsole, metal free, slip resistant to SRC and resistant to oil and petrol (FO). Metal free construction is a practical advantage at access control points and in clean areas.
• Water repellent smooth leather upper, microfibre insole, six hole lacing, colour black. The manufacturer states a net weight of 1.354 kg for the sales unit of one pair.
