ESD safety low shoe CL 400 S2, CLEANLINE upper, white, unisex - Atlas 87400

In medical technology, food production and electronics manufacturing the requirement is not only ESD capability but also a shoe that looks hygienically clean and can be wiped down. The CL 400 is the white low shoe of the clean and white series and keeps the person-shoe-floor resistance to DIN EN 61340-5-1 below 100 MOhm.

Why this model

• Protection class S2 to EN ISO 20345. Toe cap rated for 200 joules of impact energy and 15 kN compression, closed heel area with energy absorption, antistatic construction and an upper tested against water penetration and water absorption.

• Suitable for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV rule 112-191. Insoles may be fitted without voiding the type examination.

Electronics manufacturing and clean areas, medical technology, laboratory, food production, packaging and order picking. The CLEANLINE upper is made for hygienically sensitive indoor areas. For construction sites or the yard the model lacks the penetration resistant insert and the coarse tread of class S3.

Standards and conformity

EN ISO 20345 in the S2 SRC configuration, which is how the manufacturer lists this model. S2 requires everything S1 requires, that is a 200 joule toe cap, a closed heel area, energy absorption in the heel region and antistatic construction, and adds an upper tested against water penetration and water absorption. Slip resistance SRC documents the test on tile with detergent plus the test on steel with glycerine. The ESD property is tied to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Atlas states the person-shoe-floor resistance as below 100 MOhm. The antistatic range of the shoe standard itself runs from 100 kOhm to 1,000 MOhm. DGUV rule 112-191 names 0.1 MOhm as the lower limit for limited protection against electric shock when working up to 230 V. Personal protective equipment of risk category 2.

This item covers sizes 36 to 49 and is delivered as one pair. The version runs in standard width 10. According to the manufacturer page Atlas also lists the CL 400 in width 12 for extra wide feet.
