Areas of use

For construction sites or the yard the model lacks the penetration resistant insert and the coarse tread of class S3.

Standards and conformity

EN ISO 20345 in the S2 SRC configuration, which is how the manufacturer lists this model. S2 requires everything S1 requires, that is a 200 joule toe cap, a closed heel area, energy absorption in the heel region and antistatic construction, and adds an upper tested against water penetration and water absorption. Slip resistance SRC documents the test on tile with detergent plus the test on steel with glycerine. The ESD property is tied to DIN EN 61340-5-1. Atlas states the person-shoe-floor resistance as below 100 MOhm. The antistatic range of the shoe standard itself runs from 100 kOhm to 1,000 MOhm. DGUV rule 112-191 names 0.1 MOhm as the lower limit for limited protection against electric shock when working up to 230 V. Personal protective equipment of risk category 2.
