ESD safety low shoe CX 325 S3 SRC, black cowhide, penetration resistant - Atlas 87800

Anyone who stands in the test bay in the morning and walks the warehouse at noon needs a shoe that copes with both. The CX 325 is rated class S3 to EN ISO 20345, so it has a penetration-resistant sole and a water-repellent upper, and as an ESD model it keeps the resistance below 100 MOhm to DIN EN 61340-5-1.

The upper is soft full-grain cowhide in black and the outsole comes from the Atlas City Style sole system. The shoe runs on standard width 10, which is already cut wide and close to the natural foot.

The CX 325 covers the way from the office into production: maintenance and service, assembly and test bays, stores and dispatch, plus walk-throughs by engineering and quality assurance. Penetration resistance makes it wearable where swarf, nails or wire offcuts can lie on the floor.

Standards and conformity

The classification EN ISO 20345 S3 SRC covers everything S2 requires, namely a closed heel area, antistatic construction, 20 joules of energy absorption in the heel, a fuel-resistant outsole and a water-repellent upper, and adds penetration resistance plus a cleated outsole. SRC covers the slip test on ceramic tile with detergent and on steel flooring with glycerine.

For its ESD models Atlas guarantees a resistance below 100 MOhm, that is below 10^8 Ohm, measured person plus shoe plus floor to DIN EN 61340-5-1. The footwear standard EN ISO 20345 contains no ESD test of its own and only requires antistatic shoes to stay between 10^5 and 10^9 Ohm. Anyone running an EPA to DIN EN 61340-5-1 therefore needs the tighter ESD figure rather than the antistatic range alone.

To EN ISO 20345 the toe cap withstands an impact of 200 joules and a static compression of 15 kN. The shoe is category II personal protective equipment under Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and Atlas publishes the EU declaration of conformity for the model.
