Economy cup style heel grounder, green, with 1 megohm resistor and elastic strap - Desco HGC1M-ECG

Supervisors need to see quickly that operators are actually grounded. On the HGC1M-ECG economy heel grounder, the green hook and loop fastener at the heel does exactly that. The grounder connects the wearer to ground through the dissipative floor, with a typical total resistance below 1.2 x 10⁶ ohms.

Applications

Personnel grounding through footwear and dissipative flooring in the EPA, where many people are equipped and wearing compliance needs to be visible, for example in production, warehouses or for visitors. Wear grounders on both feet to keep floor contact while walking. Not recommended for use on equipment with operating voltages above 250 VAC. The grounder is for electrostatic control and gives no protection against electric shock.

Standards

Total resistance is determined per ESD SP9.2 and ESD TR53, and the manufacturer states that the requirements of ANSI/ESD S20.20 are met. A check at a footwear test station before each use is recommended.
