ESD economy cup-style heel grounder, yellow hook and loop strap, 1 megohm resistor - Desco 2044

A heel grounder only protects when it is actually worn. On the 2044 economy heel grounder, the bright yellow strap shows from a distance whether an operator is properly grounded. Electrically, tab-to-cup resistance is 1 x 10⁶ to < 1 x 10⁸ ohms, tested at 100 V.

Applications

Grounding operators who move around the EPA, for example in warehousing, kitting, wave soldering or test areas, in combination with conductive or dissipative flooring. Wear two heel grounders per person, one on each shoe, and tuck the tab inside the shoe under the sole of the foot.

Standards

Meets the requirements of ANSI/ESD S20.20. Check function with a footwear tester before starting work. Resistance is tested per ESD SP9.2 and ESD TR53. The heel grounder is an ESD control item and does not protect against electric shock.
