Snap-Loc heel grounder with 1 megohm resistor, dual-layer rubber cup, black/white - Desco 70050

Operators who stand, walk or move material in the EPA cannot stay tethered to a wrist strap cord. The 70050 Snap-Loc heel grounder connects the wearer through the footwear to the dissipative floor. A moulded 1 megohm resistor limits current, and resistance RG is 1 x 10⁶ to below 1 x 10⁹ ohms.

Applications

Personnel grounding via an ESD footwear and flooring system, for mobile operators, warehouse staff, people working at large machinery and visitors. Wear one heel grounder on each shoe. IEC 61340-5-1 requires a total resistance from person through footwear and floor to ground below 1 x 10⁹ ohms and a body voltage below 100 V.

Standards

Designed to meet the footwear requirements of EN 61340-5-1, tested per IEC 61340-4-3. Insulative build-up on the cup can raise the system resistance, so the manufacturer recommends a compliance check before each use per ESD SP9.2, for example at every shift change, and again before re-entering the EPA if the grounder was worn outside.
