Anti-static microfiber Tiger Cloth 200 x 200 mm, dry use - Kinetronics ASC-TC8

Between the small optics cloth and the large surface cloth there is usually one format missing: big enough for a display or a piece of scanner glass, small enough to steer with one hand. The Kinetronics Tiger Cloth ASC-TC8 measures 200 x 200 mm and works dry. Conductive polyester fibres sit in the microfiber fabric at 4 mm spacing and carry the charge away as you wipe instead of letting it build.

Benefits

• The middle size of the three: 200 x 200 mm clears a notebook display or a scanner bed in a few passes. The ASC-TC5 at 145 x 130 mm is too small for that, while half of the 450 x 250 mm ASC-PP hangs unused over your hand.
• Not soaked, not impregnated: the dissipative property is in the weave, not in a liquid. Nothing evaporates or dries out, so the effect stays the same throughout the service life.
• A figure you can check: below 10 megohm dry to Kinetronics test method TC-01. An independent institute measured resistance values for the ASC well below those of competing cloths.
• Square cut: folded once, the square gives four working faces that come up fresh one after the other before the cloth needs changing.
• Washable at 30 °C: estimated service life of 25 to 100 washes depending on soiling, with no loss of conductivity from washing.
• Kind to the skin: no conductive impregnation is used, which makes the cloth favourable from a dermatological point of view.

Applications

The ASC-TC8 is used dry, without any cleaner. Typical surfaces are monitor and scanner glass, touchscreens, picture frames, populated circuit boards and the workbench itself, as well as film strips, CDs and lenses. On plastic or glass it keeps a dust-attracting charge from forming while you clean, which matters most in circuit board production. For optics alone the smaller ASC-TC5 is enough, and for whole table tops or large framing glass the ASC-PP covers ground faster. When a cleaning solution is part of the job, reach for the black Panther Cloth PC-MPC8 in the same format, because the Tiger Cloth stays dry in use.

Care and washing

Wash at 30 °C together with other synthetics, small load, normal detergent, gentle cycle and an extra rinse where possible. Tumble dry on low heat. For optical cleaning the cloth is retired only once the fibres show visible breaks that can shed lint.
