ISO 5599-1, base and end plates
ISO 5599-1
ISO 5599-1 sub-base and end plates are the mounting and connection elements that assemble individual valves into valve islands. The Aventics range covers single connection plates (bottom-threaded ports), sub-base plates with side and bottom ports, intermediate plates for separate air supply (G 1/2 connections), left and right end plates, and direct-mount connection plates for fitting ISO valves to ISO 6431 cylinders (series 167/50). The plates cover ISO 5599-1 nominal sizes 1, 2, and 4 and are designed as genuine Aventics accessories for series 580/581.
| Plate type | Function | Port configuration |
|---|---|---|
| Sub-base plate | Carries one directional valve; supply and exhaust distribution | Side or bottom (G 1/4 to G 1/2) |
| Single connection plate | Individual valve mounting, no manifold series | Bottom-threaded ports |
| Intermediate plate (sep. inlet) | Separates pressure zones within the island | G 1/4 or G 1/2 |
| End plate left/right | Closes the valve island on both sides | - |
| Connection plate (167/50) | Direct-mount ISO valve on ISO 6431 cylinder | Cylinder direct flange |
An ISO 5599-1 valve island is built from a left end plate, any number of sub-base plates (one per valve), optional intermediate plates for separate pressure zones, and a right end plate. All plates of the same nominal size are bolted together as a unit; gaskets between plates are typically included in the supply. Intermediate plates for separate air supply allow different operating pressures for individual valves within the same island. The direct-mount connection plate for ISO 6431 cylinders (5801690000) enables an ISO valve to be mounted directly on the cylinder head without separate hose connections.
Typical applications: Assembly of new valve islands for new machine builds to ISO 5599-1 standard; extension of existing islands with additional valve positions; splitting pressure zones in an existing island by adding an intermediate plate; direct-mounting ISO valves on ISO 6431 cylinders to reduce hose runs and dead volume; replacement procurement for damaged or corroded sub-base plates in existing plant.
