Festo handling systems combine pneumatic handling modules with matched accessories to build compact gripping and transfer units for industrial automation. The HSP range covers gripper head sizes from 12 mm upward and can be assembled into application-specific units using adapter plates, cover sets, and connecting elements.

The basis of every handling system is the module (HSP range), which carries the pneumatic drive and gripping function. The appropriate adapter plate (BPL-1, BPL-2, BPL-3) ensures mechanical compatibility with the downstream gripper or mounting structure. Cover sets (BSD-HSP-12, BSD-HSP-16) close the module head and allow orderly compressed air routing. Selection depends on gripper size, stroke length, and the existing mounting environment.
Typical applications: Pick-and-place cells in electronics manufacturing, loading and unloading automation, assembly stations with pneumatic part transfer, packaging machines, and inspection and measurement stations requiring defined gripping movements.
