ADVUL compact cylinder

The Festo ADVUL compact cylinder is a single-acting spring-return variant from the Festo short-stroke range. Bore diameters span 12 to 100 mm with strokes starting from 5 mm. In contrast to the double-acting ADVU/AEVU types, the ADVUL uses an integrated return spring to retract the piston rod when the air supply is exhausted. All variants carry a magnetic piston (suffix -P-A) for use with Festo proximity sensors.

The ADVUL is the preferred choice for applications without a second pressure port. The spring force determines the return force and must be accounted for during system design. All common bore-stroke combinations are available from stock.
Typical applications: Clamping and holding fixtures where force is applied by air pressure and released by the spring, locking mechanisms with a defined rest position, and simple infeed or ejection tasks in assembly and test equipment.
