The Festo ADVU and AEVU compact cylinders in metric sizes are double-acting short-stroke cylinders with integrated end-position cushioning and ISO 21287-compliant port geometry. Bore diameters range from 12 to 100 mm with strokes starting from 5 mm, enabling installation in space-constrained automation assemblies. The AEVU variant offers a reduced overall length in the stroke direction compared to the ADVU. Both types are available with magnetic piston for use with Festo proximity sensors when the suffix -A is present in the part number.

Suffix -P-A denotes a magnetic piston with single-sided rod exit. For double-sided piston rod throughput (driven from both ends), the -A-P-A variant is available. Bore and stroke are selected independently; all common combinations are available from stock.
Typical applications: Gripping and clamping in assembly lines, infeed and sorting stations with limited installation space, pressing and joining fixtures in electronics manufacturing, and lifting or sliding mechanisms in handling equipment.
