Electrically operated process and media valves
Festo VZWF solenoid valves are 2/2-way process valves with M22C coil for medium to large nominal diameters. The 263-article range covers port sizes G 1/2 (135 mm nominal) and G 1 (275 mm), combinable with 1P4, 2AP4 and 3AP4 seal materials and NC or NO function (V-variants). The B body is the VZWF main series; E and V suffixes identify electromagnetically pilot-operated and normally open variants respectively.
R1 variants integrate a backflow preventer into the valve body. The L body form provides a uniform installation length, simplifying replacement.
VZWF-B-L-M22C-G12-135-1P4-10 decodes as: B = series B, L = long body, M22C = coil type, G12 = G 1/2, 135 = 135 mm nominal diameter, 1P4 = NBR seal, 10 = 10 bar pressure. E-variants (e.g. -E-1P4-10) are pilot-operated and switch reliably even at high differential pressures. V-variants are normally open. R1-variants (e.g. -1P4-10-R1) include an integrated backflow preventer. Seal material selection is based on medium and temperature range.
Typical applications: Main isolation and switching points in cooling and process water systems (G 1/2 to G 1), steam and hot water control with EPDM seals, control of fuel and oil lines with FKM seals, pressure testing systems, and supply line regulation to large pneumatic actuators.
