Electrically operated process and media valves
Festo VZWM solenoid valves are electrically operated process valves in flange design for large nominal diameters. The series uses the M22C standard coil and is available in port sizes G 1/4 to G 2. The F4 and F5 flange designs allow connection to standardised pipe flanges. 16 articles cover the principal sizes from G 1/4 to G 2, with R1 variants for backflow prevention and F4 or F5 flanges for different flange standards.
The part number VZWM-L-M22C-G2-F5-R1 decodes as: L = long body, M22C = coil type, G2 = G 2 port, F5 = flange size 5, R1 = backflow variant. Variants without R1 have no backflow prevention. F4 flanges suit smaller nominal sizes (G 1/4 to G 1); F5 suits larger sizes (G 1 1/4 to G 2). Selection is based on required flow rate, operating pressure, medium and the flange standard of the existing pipework.
Typical applications: Industrial cooling water and compressed air main lines with large nominal diameters, process control in chemical plants with flanged connections, control of steam and hot water lines (select media-compatible seals), and isolation and switching functions in large installations where flanged valves with low pressure drop are required.
