Electrically operated process and media valves
Festo VZWD solenoid valves are direct-acting 2/2-way process valves with M22C coil, designed for small to medium nominal diameters at G 1/4 ports. The range covers 234 articles in three nominal size codes (10, 15, 20 mm) with various stroke values, combinable with 1P4, 2AP4 and 3AP4 seal materials. The L body allows uniform installation length across all nominal sizes.
Each nominal size is available as NC (1P4, 2AP4, 3AP4) and NO (V-variants). The M22C coil enables VZWD valves to integrate into existing VZW infrastructure without changing control cable routing.

The nominal size (M-value) and stroke determine the Kv coefficient and therefore the flow rate at a given differential pressure. Direct-acting VZWD valves switch independently of media pressure, making them suitable for zero-pressure duty as well. Seal material 1P4 (NBR) covers standard water, air and oil applications; 2AP4 (FKM) for higher temperatures and more aggressive media; 3AP4 (EPDM) for hot water and steam. NC variants close safely on power failure.
Typical applications: Control of cooling water, compressed air and neutral gas lines at small to medium nominal diameters, pressure-free switching on test rigs, vacuum applications (NO variant for fail-safe venting), dosing systems with frequent switching cycles, and control of temperature-sensitive media with FKM or EPDM seals.
