With the QU320X range the material question has to be settled before ordering. Quick lists two tops for the QU3202 and QU3205, one metal and one plastic. This item is the metal version and belongs to stations whose upper shell is made of metal.

Metal or plastic

• Metal version of the top, easily identified on the fitted station by sight and by touch.
• Rigid, so the shell keeps its shape when tools are laid on it or units are stacked on a repair bench.
• Metal takes up the waste heat of a station that runs at 90 W and controls from 100 to 550 °C.
• A metal case fits into the earthing concept of an ESD bench, the station stays below a ground resistance of 2 ohms.

Applications

Repair after a drop, deformation or corrosion on the upper shell. Also the sensible choice where a station runs in shift work and the top surface is regularly used to put things down.
