On terminal tabs, cable lugs and massive contacts the deciding factor is not contact width alone but how much heat is stored behind the working face. The TSS10B-11P-04 therefore uses a cuboid section 11 mm wide and 9.0 mm thick in the 300 W class.

What the geometry does

• Cuboid body 9.0 mm thick holds far more heat capacity than a chisel of the same width and does not collapse on strongly conducting workpieces.
• Working width of 11 mm delivers the heat across the whole contact face rather than at a point.
• 300 W rating of the TSS10 range for workpieces with a very high heat demand.
• Tip and heater form one direct unit, on the TS10 about 3 seconds to 300 degrees Celsius are reached on a 1.6 mm tip.
• Thermocouple in the tip matters because large workpieces need continuous re-heating and the loop sees that demand at once.
• Cartridge chip with the individual calibration value keeps the station reading usable with large tip shapes.

Application, scope of delivery and compatibility

Intended for production, workshop, service, maintenance and rework on massive contacts, terminal tabs, heavy cable joints, connectors, lugs and large copper areas, and for tinning larger surfaces in assembly and power electronics. Compared with the chisel shapes in the series, the cuboid is built for heat capacity rather than access, so fine electronics work and small pads are better served by narrower shapes.
