Soldering connector pins, tags or heavy strands from the side calls for contact area and a flat approach angle at the same time. The 45 degree bevel stretches the 6.0 mm tip body into an ellipse of roughly 8.5 mm by calculation, and the 300 W version of the TSS10 range supplies the power to keep that face hot.

What the geometry does

• At 6.0 mm this is the largest round form in the range, so a matching amount of material stands behind the joint as heat reserve.
• The 45 degree bevel allows work from a flat angle while the joint stays in view.
• The wetted elliptical face carries a bead of solder along with it, which helps when drag soldering rows of terminals.
• 300 W version for raised heat demand on tabs, cable terminations and larger pads.
• Tip and heater are one unit in the TSS10 range, on the Quick TS10 roughly 3 seconds to 300 °C are possible, reference is the 1.6 mm tip.
• Calibration chip inside the cartridge, so the station shows the matching value again after a tip change.

Applications

Connector contacts, solder tags, cable terminations, stranded wire, tabs, wide tracks and larger pads in workshop, service, assembly and rework. The face is too large for small SMD pads, where the 1.0 and 2.0 mm bevels of the range fit better.

Scope of delivery and compatibility

One cartridge soldering tip for the Quick TS10. Changing to other TSS10 cartridges happens on the same handpiece, the version is RoHS compliant.
