The A14 adsorption filter cassette in the lower filter position binds gases, vapours and odours from the extraction airflow of the ACD 400. The filter medium is a 14 kg bed of activated carbon. Together with the cassette in the upper position it makes up the A28 main filter module with 28 kg of carbon.

Description
No particulate filter helps against odours, vapours and gaseous pollutants. In the ACD 400 that task falls to the A28 main filter module, built from two A14 adsorption filter cassettes. This cassette occupies the lower filter position and holds a 14 kg bed of activated carbon. It is a storage filter and is replaced complete once saturated.

How it works
Gaseous and vaporous air contaminants are separated by adsorption, that is by attachment of the substances to the surface of the activated carbon. As a rule the adsorbed substance undergoes no chemical change. For gas mixtures where activated carbon is unsuitable, ULT offers cassettes filled with a chemisorption medium.
Applications
Separation of gases, vapours and odours in processes such as bonding, pretreatment, painting, printing, cleaning, laminating and casting on ACD units of the 400 series.
Compatibility and scope of delivery
For the ULT ACD 400. The first filter stage of the unit is the change frame holding the M5 dust prefilter mat, ISO Coarse above 85 percent to ISO 16890, followed by the two A14 adsorption filter cassettes. Together with the upper cassette (4-00364) this item forms the adsorption filter set. Scope of delivery: 1 A14 adsorption filter cassette for the lower position.
