Inside an ESD protected area, tweezers must endanger the component neither mechanically nor electrostatically. The 92 16 01 ESD carries a tested black epoxy coating with a surface resistance between 10^3 and 10^9 ohms and places small parts safely in the grid with tips angled at 35 degrees and 1.5 mm wide.

Areas of use

Manual assembly and repair of boards in an EPA, test field and laboratory. The angled tip helps wherever components are set or pulled between neighbours that are already populated.

Standards and conformity

The manufacturer states DIN EN 61340-5-1 for use in EPA areas, the tweezers are ESD tested. According to the manufacturer they contain no substances of very high concern under REACH, and the RoHS directive does not apply. No VDE test is declared.
