Digital field meter with Charge Plate Set CPS - Safeguard SFM PRO CPS

The Safeguard SFM PRO CPS combines a precise electrostatic field meter with a Charge Plate Set (CPS), turning it into a charge-plate monitor for verifying air ionizers to DIN EN 61340-5-1 and EOS/ESD S3.1. The conductive plastic housing and high-quality components ensure reproducible measurements within an ESD control program.

A star-shaped induction electrode at the top works with a grounded rotating modulation vane (field-mill principle); a ring-electrode system protects the vane and field plate. With the CPS, the instrument measures the decay time from +1,000 V to +100 V or -1,000 V to -100 V using an integrated start-stop timer; charging is provided by an external HV converter. Note: in CPS mode only voltages up to a maximum of 2 kV are displayed.

Standards and compliance

The charge-electrode capacitance (20 pF) meets IEC 61340-5-1 and EOS/ESD S3.1, although its dimensions (75 x 150 mm instead of 150 x 150 mm) differ. Reproducible measurements are readily achievable; fully standard-compliant measurements require the larger CPM charge-plate monitor. The system supports an ESD control program to the IEC 61340 series.
