Digital field meter with Charge Plate Set CPS - Safeguard SFM PRO CPS

The Safeguard SFM PRO CPS combines a precise field meter with a Charge Plate Set (CPS), becoming a charge plate monitor for verifying air ionizers per DIN EN 61340-5-1 and EOS/ESD S3.1. The conductive plastic housing and high-grade components ensure reproducible measurements within the ESD control concept.

At the top sits a star-shaped induction electrode in front of which an earthed modulation impeller rotates (field mill principle); a ring electrode system protects impeller and field plate. With the CPS the unit measures the decay time from +1,000 V to +100 V and -1,000 V to -100 V via an integrated start-stop timer; charging is performed by an external HV converter. In CPS mode voltages up to max. 2 kV are shown.

Standards and compliance

The charging electrode capacity (20 pF) complies with IEC 61340-5-1 and EOS/ESD S3.1; the dimensions (75 x 150 mm instead of 150 x 150 mm) deviate. Reproducible measurements are readily possible; fully standard-compliant measurements require the larger Charge Plate Monitor CPM.
