The ERGO-MED series is the part of the Atlas range built for orthopaedic requirements. The ERGO-MED 2000 is a class S1 ESD low shoe that an orthopaedic shoemaker may modify under DGUV rule 112-191, that is with a raised sole or heel. Measured as the person, shoe and floor system to DIN EN 61340-5-1, the through resistance stays below 100 MOhm, so the wearer charge drains away before it reaches an assembly.

EN ISO 20345 allows antistatic footwear anywhere between 100 kOhm and 1000 MOhm. For the ESD version Atlas additionally guarantees the narrower value below 100 MOhm, which is what an EPA set up to DIN EN 61340-5-1 asks for.

What sets this model apart

  • Certified for orthopaedic modifications to DGUV rule 112-191. That is the practical difference to an ordinary S1 shoe. Where a foot deformity calls for a raised sole, the shoe stays compliant after the change instead of losing its approval.
  • Safety class S1 to EN ISO 20345 means a 200 joule toe cap, closed heel area, energy absorption in the heel and antistatic construction. For dry indoor areas without a nail risk this is the lightest sensible level.
  • The MPU INNOFLEX System is laid out as a complete outsole concept and supports every phase of roll off. The MPU REBOUND SYSTEM handles cushioning and returns part of the impact energy.
  • A mesh upper and the clima-stream concept keep breathability high and balance the moisture inside the shoe. Over eight hours in a warm hall that is the difference between a dry foot and a wet one.
  • Also approved for orthopaedic insoles to DGUV rule 112-191, the marking inside the shoe is decisive.
  • This article is standard width 10. Atlas deliberately builds it broad and foot shaped. Anyone who still finds it tight across the ball gets the same model from the multi width system in width 12 and in the special widths 13 and 14.
