TO220 90° bending die with center lead 5 mm out for Supercut/RS4 - Iteco 163100

Power semiconductors in a TO220 package are usually mounted lying down and bolted to a heat sink through the tab, which means the leads have to be bent through 90°. On the Supercut/RS4 this die assembly makes that bend and moves the center lead 5 mm out in the same operation.

Operating features

• 90° bend - after insertion the package lies flat and can be bolted down through its tab.
• Center lead 5 mm out - the middle wire stands proud of the outer ones and meets the offset pad.
• Consistent bend radius - the die puts the bending line in the same place on every device, so the hole pattern is met repeatably.
• Cutting and bending in one stroke - the leads are trimmed to length at the same time.
• Up to 2000 pieces per hour - even the heavier TO220 package runs at the normal cycle rate.

Applications

Voltage regulators, power transistors and rectifiers in TO220 packages that are mounted flat on a heat sink, as well as power supplies and output stages with a low overall height.

Compatibility and scope of supply

The die belongs to the tooling programme of the Supercut/RS4, which Iteco supplies under part number 7915.166 without any die. Every forming shape needs its own die assembly, and the unit is exchanged as one complete assembly. Dies of the 16x.xxx range fit the Supercut/RS4, the 18x.xxx range fits the larger Supercut/TS1. Supplied as one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
