Spread out and cut die assembly for increasing lead pitch on Supercut/TS1 - Iteco 181700

Components taken from bulk do not always arrive with the lead spacing the drilling pattern requires. Die assembly 181700 spreads both leads symmetrically outwards and trims them in the same foot pedal stroke, so every part leaves the machine at the required pitch.

Operating features

• Pitch increased - the leads are formed outwards until they match the drilling pattern of the board
• Symmetrical forming - both leads are gripped from the outside at once, so the body stays centred over the holes
• Cut included - the die spreads and trims in one stroke, which removes a second operation
• Up to 45 mm pitch - the TS1 handles components with a lead pitch up to 45 mm and a length up to 140 mm
• Repeatable at 2000 pieces per hour - the pitch is set by the die and not by the way the operator handles the part

Applications

Adapting capacitors, resistors and diodes from bulk to a wider drilling pattern, handling second sources with different lead spacing, and repair or small series work where a part has to fit an existing board layout.

Compatibility and scope of supply

The die assembly works only in the pneumatic Supercut/TS1, which Iteco supplies without tooling under part number 7915.171. On the smaller Supercut/RS4 (7915.166) the same forming shape carries part number 161700. Changing to another forming shape of the range takes only a few moves and the machine stays the same. On request Iteco supplies the machine with a wire holder system and in a three cylinder version with custom dies for special shapes. Supplied as one complete die assembly. Made in Italy.
